I ordered quite a few items from FeelUnique a few days ago and thought I’d share what I purchased with you. I haven’t ordered from FeelUnique for a while, I tend to get most of my products from Look Fantastic or Sephora but I was actually really impressed by the brands and ranges that Feel Unique stock. If you would like a full review on any of these products in particular then let me know but I already have a few reviews planned so keep an eye out for those! If you want to go straight to the product on FeelUnique then just click the name of the products as I have linked them all.
I got two products from NYX with the first one being this primer. I’ve seen this primer all over YouTube and Instagram so I thought I should give it a try. I don’t wear foundation / tinted moisturiser too often because I have the awful combination of dry skin and large pores so a lot of base products cling to my dry patches and causes my skin to look really cakey and dull. This has light reflective gold flakes to give a luminous and radiant finish and also helps to even out redness and discolouration. Sounds perfect!
There are two eyeshadow palettes in the Love You So Mochi collection, Sleek And Chic which I purchased and then Electric Pastels which, as you can imagine is a combination of bright shades and pastel shades to match. I haven’t tried any NYX eyeshadows before and I kept seeing this palette in Boots and almost purchased it a few weeks ago when I swatched the shades but I thought I would wait a little longer. I have had a play with a few of the shades and it is such a great palette, I think I will review this in full but I glad I got it. I swatched the shadows on a piece of paper so you could really see the true colour of each shadow as I found that my skin tone was making the shades look much different to how they look in the palette and on the lid so hopefully this helps. The colours aren’t as intense on the eye, they’re much more subtle but are still pigmented.
I love Make Up For Ever lipsticks and got a couple shades of the Artist Rouge Creme High Pigmented lipsticks and absolutely loved them so when I saw these on the website I was desperate to try them. I tend to prefer sheer lipsticks so these seemed like the perfect combination of what I usually prefer and the high pigmented creme formula. There are 20 colours currently on the Feel Unique website so there are plenty of options no matter what shades you like. I love that Make Up For Ever always have such extensive shade options but it makes it so difficult to choose just one or two! First world problems aside, I picked the shade L500 Deep Purple which swatches more off a rosy berry colour so don’t be expecting a vampy colour here. I also got shade L203 Rose Petal which, despite the light formula, is a very vibrant fuchsia which I like but is a little out of my typical everyday comfort zone but would be great for the upcoming summer! I can’t wait to use these and I think I would definitely expand my collection.
These are two fairly new products from Make Up For Ever. I mentioned earlier I don’t often wear foundation because I can never find one that doesn’t accentuate my dry skin and large pores but the liquid foundation from this brand actually works well for my skin (but I haven’t got a good shade match yet) so I thought I would give the perfector a try. It’s got SPF 25 and is supposed to give light coverage and blur your skin.
The Soft Light is a liquid highlight but isn’t shimmery or glittery like a lot of highlights out there. I will confess that I’m not the biggest highlight fan – at least not of most powders. They show off more of my texture than I would prefer and I like highlights to look natural as I feel more comfortable wearing minimal makeup. I was worried this would be glittery but it’s definitely not, it just gives a light reflective glow similar to strobe cream.
This palette is one of two eye palettes from this galaxy themed collection. The other palette I believe is more metallic glittery shades whereas this has a good mix 0f 6 matte and 12 shimmer shadows. I was probably most excited for this to show up over everything else because shadows are my kryptonite and Make Up For Ever are my favourite shadows along with the Anastasia Beverly Hills single shadows that I reviewed here. I love the first half of the palette but it’s nice to have a mix of darker shades because I wouldn’t usually buy a palette based on those colours as a whole. From quickly swatching the shades I can see they are just as pigmented as their previous shadow releases so I know this will be a well-used addition to my collection. Look out for a full review on this palette once I’ve played around with it, I might even do a couple eye looks to show the versatility of the palette.
YVES SAINT LAURENT GLOSSY STAIN POP WATER (204 ONDE ROSE) £28 / YVES SAINT LAURENT VOLUPTE LIQUID COLOUR BALM (04 SPY ON ME NUDE) £26
Next, two lip products that I haven’t previously tried from YSL. I love lip products and am obsessed with the Volupte Tint-in-Oil and the Volupte Tint-in-Balm so I had a good idea that I would like these products. The Glossy Stain Pop Water is supposed to be a mix of a gloss, a stain and a lipstick and is supposed to be really hydrating and not lose the shine or hydration factor whilst providing a sheer yet balanced colour and feeling lightweight. I’m super excited to try this out especially with the shade 204 Onde Rose being perfect for summer!
The next YSL lip product I got was the Liquid Colour Balm. As I mentioned I love the Tint-in-Balm and it is one of my most used lipsticks so I expected that I would love this just as much. This product has coconut water and pomegranate extract in it to hydrate your lips and is powered by a 35% active water phase – not entirely sure what that is but it definitely sounds hydrating. This does feel like a thicker lip balm, if you have tried the Nars Liquid Lip that launched in summer 2016 then it feels like that, it’s thick but feels very cooling and you can almost feel the coconut water sinking in. A nice option for when you need a break from drying liquid lipsticks!
This a cream eyeshadow from Charlotte Tilbury which is a brand I haven’t tried anything from before. There are 5 different shades to choose from and I got the shade Jean which is a truly stunning bronzy champagne colour. I love cream eyeshadows and often use the Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream on my lid with either a light amount of a matte bronzer or a shadow like Creme Brulee by Makeup Geek as a transition shade. I love how simple and effortless cream eyeshadows are and with this being very creamy and plushy I think I will get a lot of use out of this product. My only slight negative to this product is the price, MAC’s Pro Longwear Paint Pot’s are £16.50 and the Make Up Forever Aqua cream is £18 so I think at £22 this is a tad bit overpriced compared to the quality of the other two and not to mention Maybelline is a good drugstore alternative too.
I was looking for a clear brow gel to replace my clear brow gel by Anastasia which I loved. I tried the Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara thinking that it would be ideal to have a cheap brow gel as I go through them so quickly but it was super sticky and didn’t do the best job.
I am so glad I have this product now and think it beats the Anastasia one (and it’s cheaper!) The brush is tiny but it works so well to get the hairs precisely in place. They also have a tinted gel which comes in three shades and is supposed to tint and sculpt. I either use the Anastasia Brow Definer or the Benefit Gimme Brow and need a clear gel to hold my brows in place so this being clear is perfect for that but I think I’ll put the tinted version on my list to see if it beats the Gimme Brow!
Keeping on the topic of brows, I caved and ordered the infamous Brow Wiz. I got the Brow Definer when it first launched and couldn’t believe how easy it was to do my brows and finally realised what all the hype was about surrounding Anastasia brow products. Considering I love the angled version of this so much I thought things could only get better with the Brow Wiz as it seems to be more popular. I, personally, after trying this a couple of times don’t have much use for it. The definer works well for my thick brow shape and I find the Brow Wiz is useful for very small precise areas but I definitely don’t need it with the definer. This is also a lot less creamy than the definer and find it isn’t as forgiving. P.S I have tried the NYX Micro Brow Pencil and there is almost no difference between the two, to me at least.
How pretty is this nail polish from Deborah Lippmann? Over everything else, nail polish is my obsession, I’m being dead serious I have racks of polish anywhere I can fit it and my room is starting to look like the nail section of a Sally’s store….. honest. Anyway, I love Deborah Lippmann nail polishes but haven’t ever tried this range. I followed the trend and started getting gel at a salon for a couple months up until December and whilst my nails were long and strong with the gel on them, as soon as it came off the looked awful and it was clearly a waste of healthy nails and money considering I can paint my own nails perfectly well. The purpose for buying this was because, after a few months of no polish of any kind to get my nail health back, regular polish ended up making my nails soft (bad habit of changing my colour 2/3 times a week) and would constantly chip. I wanted a stronger and healthier polish so I ended up with this.
This is a ‘healthy alternative to gel polish’ and has 10 ingredients for health, wear and shine – not to mention it’s 7 free! I’m hoping the Biotin and Keratin along with the Bamboo helps my nail health and keeps the colour on my nails for more than a few days!
UPDATE: I painted my nails whilst writing some of this post and caught my nails on the keyboard multiple times and it didn’t even smudge! How amazing of a start is that?!
Thanks for reading!
Hopefully, I can get a few reviews out of some of the products that I’ve just purchased. Also, this is not a post to brag, I like hauls as I can see what products are out there that I wouldn’t usually find so I hope you find some hidden gems within this post!
